• My name is Sherri Washington and I have been a nurse for 34 amazing years. My Nursing career began at Children's Hospital in Dallas Texas where I stayed for 2 years working in a very special unit caring for children who were waiting for and who had received liver transplants. Pediatrics was my first passion. After I left Dallas I moved back to Virginia and began working at Children's National Medical Center in Washington D.C. At Children's in D.C., I worked primary between two units; Pediatric Intensive Care and Neonatal Intensive Care. What an incredible place for healing and loving children. When I turned 28 I was pregnant with our first child and after the birth of our daughter, everything changed. As with most new parents, your first child does change EVERYTHING. My nursing focus shifted from pediatric/neonatal to a passion more on the maternal side. How could I be a better parent, how could I improve the lives of other parents, and how could I be a daily part of the joy in bringing life into the world? And there you have it... I would pursue becoming a labor and delivery nurse. For the past 27 years, I have thoroughly enjoyed being a labor and delivery nurse. I am grateful to all of those who shared with me their labor and delivery experience. The intention of caring for others is my purpose in life with the gain and earnings of making a difference in even just one persons' life.

I started my own Birth Education Business in 2010, I became a Certified Legal Nurse Consultant for medical malpractice lawyers, I have certifications in; In-house OB nursing, Hypnobirthing, and Lamaze, I earned a Masters Degree in Nursing Education, and I recently published a book titled: "A Guide for the Big Day. Practical Details for Laboring, Delivering, and More".
